Velvet Sky Takes Off

New low-cost airline Velvet Sky took to South African air-space yesterday with its inaugural flight between Johannesburg and Durban. Velvet Sky aims to compete with local low-cost carriers Mango, Kulula and 1Time. Launch specials include Jozi to Debben for R201, and Jozi to iKapa for R401. The Velvet Sky fleet will be maintained by SAA Technical, whew. Velvet Sky aims to commence operation with a single Boeing 737-300 offering flights between the following routes on a daily basis:

JNB-DUR @ 06h15
DUR-JNB @ 08h15
JNB-CPT @ 10h15
CPT-JNB @ 13h15
JNB-DUR @18h15
DUR-JNB @ 20h15
