I was invited to the launch of the Jacobs pop-up board-game cafe in Parkhurst last night. We arrived and were allocated teams, only to find out Randall Abraham’s was our team captain. I know, right?! How’s that for lucking out. We, team yellow, kicked the asses of the other teams, also capatained by music buffs and DJs, and we got to walk away with a heap of delicious board-games and a fabulous Jacobs goodie bag.
So what’s it all about?
Well, Jacobs are getting back to basics, BT if you will. That’s ‘before technology’. From now until August 31st, Jacobs are transforming an old Victorian house in Parkhurst into a cafe in which to play board-games and enjoy complimentary coffee and sweet treats with friends, lovers, colleagues etc.
” The Jacobs Board Game Café is situated at 69 11th Street Parkhurst and is open from Tuesdays – Sundays 10am – 10pm until the end of August, with some exceptions. The venue will also be hosting several small events throughout the next few months such as ladies evenings and speed dating and is available for personal bookings such as birthday parties, hen’s parties, brain storms etc. A schedule will be available at the café and on the “Jacobs Krönung South Africa” Facebook page. For further information or to make a booking please contact Kate Fitz-Gibbon on: firstname.lastname@example.org”
The cafe is gorgeous and with winter setting in, it provides the perfect place to kick back and have some old-school fun in a cosy setting.
See you at #JacobsCafe!
