Haiti in Africa
Leave a commentIf you’ve lived in London this will tickle you. It makes fun of the Toffs for a good cause. It’s also one of the funniest virals I’ve seen in a while.

Win a Nespresso Pixie with Ford and the #BlackTopRally
Leave a commentThis is by far the most epic prize I’ve had the honour of giving away. And what I love about this competition is there’s a good cause at the heart of it all. Ford has hooked up Dale Imerman, Brent Spilkin and Mark Hamburger with a sexy new Ranger to take to the open road with in the Black Top Rally which kicked off yesterday. The boys will be covering 3500 km’s across South Africa in aid of the Missionvale Care Center near the Ford factory in PE, which cares for the local community. For every follow Ford gets on twitter, they’ll donate R50 to Missionvale. Giving couldn’t be easier.
Sponsor Nespresso has also been incredibly generous and donated a slick new Pixie espresso machine to get y’all excited. I’ve decided that this needs to go to a deserving fan. After all, it’s a kick-ass prize and entering should require a little effort. Prove to me that you’re the ultimate coffee sl*t and I’ll make it worth your while by rewarding you with a Pixie. The only hook is you’ll also need to follow Ford on twitter. So. Draw me a picture. Sing me a song. Write me a poem. Make me a video. Anything. Just show me you’re the most deserving coffee sl*t and the prize is yours. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.
You’ve got until May 4th, which is when the rally ends, to submit your entries. Competition closes at midnight on the 4th and I’ll announce the winner on Monday the 7th. Please send your submissions to editor@brandslut.co.za or brandslutblog@gmail.com.
Get following. Get creative. Good luck!

No Regret Friday
Leave a comment“No Regret Friday is a movement that has been created to encourage South Africans to think responsibly about drinking and driving Live life to the fullest but ’Regret Nothing’. This is a place where you can read real stories from people who have been affected by drinking and driving; perhaps they’ve lost a loved one, had a close call or made a smart decision and got home safely. Check out their personal accounts, you’ll probably recognise some of the situations (and people) and perhaps you’ll be inspired to share your own experience with others.
You may have been affected by drinking and driving, or perhaps you made a smart choice to get home safely and that has changed your behaviour, it doesn’t matter how short or long your story is, everyone has one and we’re interested in hearing it. Submit your story (we respect your privacy and you can choose to remain anonymous.)
If you don’t have a story to submit then join the No Regret Friday movement anyway and take a stand – by clicking here to pledge your support of the No Regret Friday movement – encourage your friends to do the same.”
Great movement SAB. Click here to pledge your support like I’ve done. And here to subscribe to Good Fellas so that you don’t become a statistic.
Keep it sexy, keep it limber, and keep it sober whilst driving, y’all.

Shoes On Feet
Leave a commentIf you haven’t heard of the Put Foot Rally you:
a. need to know it’s 7 African countries, 7 parties, 7000 km’s in 17 days for charity
b. need to get out more
Two crazy friends of mine are participating (thanks to Airwaves and Land Rover) in order to raise funds for the Bobs For Good Foundation which puts shoes on the feet of thousands of kiddies in South Africa who don’t own a pair of school shoes. R100 equates to one pair, so pull your finger out and get involved. Follow Mike and Dan’s journey/progress/tomfoolery here. It’s worth it. Not only is this a great cause, there’s also a great chance you’ll see both Mike and Dan naked at some point along the rally. Word on the street is they’re linking donations to crazy tasks which they’ll need to perform according to which task receives the most donations. [Evil laugh]
I’ve got 363 days to find a sponsor for my steamy all-female pillow-fighting team next year. Any takers?

Back to the Big Screen with Pick n Pay and Nedbank
Leave a commentOn April 9th the Pick n Pay on Nicol (aka The Mecca) will convert its parking lot into an outdoor cinema, showing ET at 7PM and Top Gun at 9PM. Tickets cost R40 per show and picnic baskets will be available for purchase, choose from traditional, sushi, kiddies and vegetarian basket options. Vida e Caffe will be brewing coffee and good ol’ fashioned popcorn will be available too. The first 300 movie-goers will receive a blanket sponsored by Nedbank - these will be donated to charity after the event. Swoon.
I certainly hope this becomes a regular fixture, Lawdie knows Jozi’s gagging for all things experiential and outdoorsy.
Here for more information, picnic menus and ticket booking.
